By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Gediminas Šimkus said on Monday that the chances that the next move would be a hike or a cut were the same.
Speaking to media in Vilnius, Šimkus, who heads the Bank of Lithuania, said that the “probabilities that the next rate decision would be a hike or a cut are the same - it's 50/50.” Nobody knew when the next move would come, he added.
