ECB’s Holzmann: No Reason to Cut Rates Further in 2025
9 July 2025

By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Robert Holzmann said on Wednesday that there was no reason to cut interest rates again in 2025.
In an interview with MNI, Holzmann, who heads the Austrian National Bank, said that there was ‘no reason at the moment why a further rate cut should take place – definitely not at the next meeting, and also for the rest of the year.’
It was ‘quite likely’ that the ECB was already in expansionary territory given the current interest-rate level, he said.
