By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Robert Holzmann said on Monday that the pause in the ECB’s cutting cycle could last some time.

In an interview with Austrian broadcaster ORF, Holzmann, who heads the Austrian National Bank, said that ‘[i]t could be that the pause lasts a while.’

Each rate decision would be based on the incoming data at that time, he said.

‘If economic developments worsen, there could be further interest rate cuts’, he added.
