By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Madis Müller said on Monday that cutting interest rates further could be justified if they were not lowered ‘significantly’.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Müller, who heads the Eesti Pank, said that ‘interest rates are already low enough that they don’t hold back our economic recovery.’

Despite further monetary policy easing being warranted, Müller said that it was ‘not obvious’ to him that the ECB should lower rates ‘significantly’ more.
