By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) on Tuesday raised €8 billion through auctions of two Treasury bonds (BTPs) and one floating-rate security (CCTeu), according to results published by the Bank of Italy.
The MEF allotted €3.5 billion of the new 3.95% 5-year BTP due February 1, 2032 at a gross yield of 4.08% and an allocation price of 99.58. Demand totaled €5.39 billion, resulting in a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.54.
In addition, it sold €3 billion of the 4% 10-year BTP due October 1, 2036 at a gross yield of 4.58% and an allocation price of 95.76. The auction attracted €4.68 billion in orders, for a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.56.
The MEF also allotted €1.5 billion of the 10-year CCTeu due April 15, 2036 at a gross yield of 3.38% and an allocation price of 98.88. Demand reached €2.62 billion, corresponding to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.75.
Settlement for all three lines is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
