By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Álvaro Santos Pereira said on Monday that one of the main risks facing the ECB in the coming months is high natural gas prices.

Speaking at an event in Lisbon, Pereira, who heads the Banco de Portugal, said that “[o]ne of the main risks we face this coming winter is additional pressure on natural gas prices.”

He added that this would generate additional inflationary pressures.
