By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) on Thursday raised a total of €4.5 billion through auctions of one Treasury bond (BTP) and two inflation-linked bonds (BTPei).
MEF allotted €2.5 billion of the 3% BTP due October 30, 2028 at a gross yield of 3.64% and an allocation price of 98.80. Demand totaled €4.11 billion, resulting in a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.64.
It also sold €1 billion of the 1.1% BTPei due August 15, 2031 at a gross yield of 1.57% and an allocation price of 97.81. The auction attracted €1.63 billion of orders, for a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.63.
Finally, the ministry allotted €1 billion of the 2% BTPei due February 15, 2037 at a gross yield of 2.42% and an allocation price of 96.29. Demand reached €1.64 billion, corresponding to a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.64.
Settlement for all three lines is scheduled for September 28, 2026.
