By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – The European Commission on Monday allotted a total of €6.273 billion in an auction of three EU-Bonds maturing in 2031, 2036 and 2040.
The 2.875% EU-Bond due October 13, 2031 was allotted for €2.183 billion from total bids of €2.655 billion. The weighted average price was 98.280, corresponding to a weighted average yield of 3.246%, while the lowest accepted price was 98.270.
The cover ratio was 1.22. Following the auction, the total outstanding volume of the bond increased to €8.183 billion from €6 billion.
The 3.25% EU-Bond due December 12, 2036 was allotted for €2.302 billion from total bids of €3.473 billion. The weighted average price was 96.294, corresponding to a weighted average yield of 3.689%, while the lowest accepted price was 96.270.
The cover ratio was 1.51. Following the auction, the total outstanding volume of the bond increased to €17.287 billion from €14.985 billion.
The 3.625% EU-Bond due December 12, 2040 was allotted for €1.788 billion from total bids of €2.066 billion. The weighted average price was 95.819, corresponding to a weighted average yield of 4.013%, while the lowest accepted price was 95.790.
The cover ratio was 1.16. Following the auction, the total outstanding volume of the bond increased to €14.752 billion from €12.964 billion.
Settlement for the competitive auction is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
