By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – Italy’s state-sector budget deficit amounted to €14.7 billion in May, compared with a deficit of €11.681 billion in the same month of 2025, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) said on Monday.
The provisional figure indicates a year-on-year increase of about €3.0 billion in the state's financing needs.
