By David Barwick – FRANKFURT (Econostream) – European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said Thursday that there was a growing trend in favour of European assets.

In an interview with Radio-Canada during the G7 meetings of finance ministers and central bankers taking place in Canada, Lagarde was asked whether she had confidence in American fiscal affairs and the US dollar.

‘In recent weeks, we've seen a shift toward European assets, likely driven by investors, primarily hedge funds’, she said. ‘But it's clear that there's a positive trend toward European assets that has clearly grown in recent weeks, very clearly.’
