ECB’s Lagarde: Update of Strategy ‘Obviously Was Needed’ Due to Many Changes

By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Thursday that the ECB had updated its strategy during this week’s retreat in Porto, Portugal.
In a video posted on her X account, Lagarde said that the ECB ‘updated, revised what the strategy should be, and that obviously was needed because so many things have changed.’
The ECB had to be ready to face future shocks and volatility, she said.
‘[W]e are determined to fulfil our mission’, she added.
