By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Boris Vujčić said on Friday that the ECB will ‘most likely’ not have clarity on tariffs by June.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Vujčić, who heads the Croatian National Bank, said that the ECB would ‘have some more hard data in June, but most likely, we won’t have the clarity on the tariff situation.’

Many companies are holding back their investments, according to Vujčić, and consumer sentiment has also felt the blow given the ‘exceptional uncertainty.’

The current tariff situation was not the ‘worst case scenario for Europe’, he said.

‘There are funds flowing into the Eurozone, energy prices and bond yields have come down’, he said. ‘For the future, it very much depends on how the relationship between the US and China develops.’
