By David Barwick – FRANKFURT (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Yannis Stournaras on Thursday reiterated his support for another ECB rate cut, dismissing the new US tariffs.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Stournaras, who heads the Bank of Greece, said, ‘In my view recent developments do not constitute an obstacle to a further rate cut in April.’

The US tariffs announced on Wednesday would ‘negatively influence the euro-area’s GDP growth rate with a first estimate of the order of 0.3% to 0.4% in the first year’, he predicted, according to the news agency.
