ECB Nominates Deutsche Bundesbank's Claudia Buch for Supervisory Board Chair

By Mariana Somensi – NICOSIA (Econostream) - The European Central Bank announced on Wednesday the nomination of Deutsche Bundesbank Vice President Claudia Buch to be chair of the Supervisory Board charged with overseeing the area's private financial institutions.

In a press release published on the ECB’s website, the Governing Council said that Buch will now be invited by the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs to a public hearing. If the nomination gains approval from the European Parliament and confirmation from the Council of the European Union, she will assume the non-renewable five-year position on 1 January 2024, succeeding Andrea Enria.
