Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) Policy Meeting Calendar
13 April 2017
Here we summarise the calendar of forthcoming monetary policy meetings and decisions of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
Monetary policy in the US is managed by the Federal Open Market Committee of the Federal Reserve. FOMC policy meetings are scheduled to take place 8 times each year at approximately equally spaced intervals. Each meeting lasts two days, concluding with any policy decisions being published in a statement at 14:00 Eastern time on the 2nd day (normally a Wednesday).
On a quarterly basis (in March, June, September and December), the committee release their Summary of Economic Projections (“SEPs”, their macroeconomic forecasts). At these meetings the FOMC also hold a press conference after the statement is published at 14:30 Eastern time. The FOMC can also theoretically call a press conference after any other meetings if required.
