By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – The Bank of Italy’s €-coin indicator, a measure of underlying euro area economic growth, rose to 0.54 in July from 0.39 in June, according to a joint release by the Bank of Italy and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) published Tuesday.
The indicator benefited from improved confidence among firms and households, especially in forward-looking assessments.
In July 2025, €-coin stood at 0.36.
€-coin provides a real-time estimate of current euro area economic conditions, expressed as quarterly GDP growth after stripping out more erratic components such as seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-term volatility.
The next €-coin releases are scheduled for September 2 and October 2, 2026, subject to confirmation.
