By Laura Contemori – ROME (Econostream) – Germany’s Finance Agency (Finanzagentur) on Wednesday allotted €1.782 billion to bidders through reopenings of its 2037 and 2047 federal government bonds (Bunds), with the federal government retaining a further €218 million.
For the 4.00% Bund due January 2037, the agency allotted €886 million to bidders. Total bids reached €1.548 billion, producing a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.7.
The bond was sold at a weighted average price of 109.32%, corresponding to an average yield of 2.96%. The reopening increased the outstanding volume of the issue to €29.25 billion from €28.25 billion previously.
Finanzagentur also allotted €896 million to bidders in the reopening of its 3.40% Bund due May 2047, against total bids of €2.120 billion, resulting in a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.4.
The bond was sold at a weighted average price of 100.21%, corresponding to an average yield of 3.38%. Following the reopening, the outstanding amount of the issue increased to €10.5 billion from €9.5 billion.
The federal government retained €114 million of the 2037 bond and €104 million of the 2047 bond.
The value date for both lines is set for June 26, 2026.
