By Marta Vilar – MADRID (Econostream) – European Central Bank Governing Council member Robert Holzmann said on Wednesday that the ECB was already at neutral territory and that there was no need for more interest rate cuts.

In an interview with Reuters, Holzmann, who heads the Austrian National Bank, played down the flash Eurozone HICP data released on Tuesday.

‘We assumed inflation would come down’, he said.

‘As we are neutral and inflation is converging to target, there is no reason to become accommodative’, he added.
